Background

As associate dean, Savage oversees the freshman Discovery Program, the Ethics Training Program and International Programs. She chaired the Rename the College Committee, the Freshmen Initiatives Proposal Committee and the American Advertising Federation Cardiss Collins Scholarship Committee for minority students. She has consulted for Walt Disney, Head Start and others, published in Essence Magazine and written the early education book for parents, "The Ready to Read, Ready to Count Handbook." Currently recently developed a study abroad program in Italy in collaboration with the Gambero Rosso media company and the Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Rome.

Research/Creative Endeavor

Savage's areas of interest include new media issues and technologies, African-American feminist literature and early education.
