Graduation

Graduated students

In the College of Media (formerly the College of Communications), graduation is the culmination of years of writing papers, creating advertising compositions, designing newspapers or Web sites and spending late nights in the basement of Gregory Hall.

The College recognizes its graduates each May with a Convocation ceremony in Foellinger Auditorium that follows the University's morning Commencement ceremony in the Assembly Hall. August and December graduates also are invited to participate in May ceremonies, and December graduates are honored with an end-of-semester reception in Gregory Hall.

Convocation 2008 — Sunday, May 11, 2 p.m.

The College welcomes its graduates into the Illinois family as Illinois alumni and College of Media alumni. Graduates are encouraged to attend alumni events and to keep in touch with the College by visiting the Alumni section.

The College of Media 2008 Convocation speeches are available as Word documents:

Notice of intent to graduate

Once a student has registered for his or her final term, he or she must submit a Notification of Intent to Graduate on UI-Integrate. After logging into the system, students should click on "Graduation Information" and then "Notify Intent to Graduate this Term."

Students should submit a notification by the tenth day of class during the last semester of their enrollment. If the deadline to submit a graduation notification is missed (UI-Integrate will indicate if that happens), undergraduate students should contact the College's Student Services Center, and graduate students should contact their respective departments.

Likewise, students should contact the Student Services Center or department, as appropriate, if they already submitted a graduation notification but will not graduate at the end of that semester.
